I went through some of my clothes and thought I would take some to the Salvation Army today.
That's were I meet Eddie, he works there.
I gave Eddie a Million Dollar tip today, which led into a really good conversation.
I told him it had a Gospel message on the back then asked him what he thought happens to someone after they die.
He was like well they go to either heaven or hell.
So I asked him were does he thing he was going.
He was well I hope heaven, but not to sure if I will sometimes I try to be good, but sometimes I don't, and he also told me that Eddie's dad, and his girlfriend and him was talking just about that the other night, what does it really take to get to heaven, and they was not sure.
So I asked him if he thought he was a good person and he was like "yes I am a really good person" ( 99% of the time that's what people will say ), then I asked him if he would care to take a little test to see if that was true, he said "sure!"
I told him we was gonna use the Ten Commandments to take the test. He said "OK sure"
So we when through 5 of the Ten Commandments and he told me yes he was a liar, a theft, a Adulterer in heart, a murder in heart, a blasphemer, and if GOD was to judge him today he would go to hell, and then he was like well but I can just ask GOD to forgive me, so I asked him if that's why GOD will forgive you just because you asked him to forgiven you, and he said " well I thought that he forgives me just because I ask him to. I asked him well would that work in a court of law, you just ask the judge to forgive you and he says sure. He was like well no he can't, I told him well you see that GOD can't just like a good judge can't and that GOD was even so much more Holier that any judge on earth could ever be, so I asked him " so what can you do for yourself?" He was like well then I don't know if I can't just ask him to forgive me. So I told him that GOD wants to forgive him just as a judge that sees that you are sorry, but he is bound buy the law, and so a fine must be paid and you have no money, and you are asking for mercy just as you should, so then I ask him what if someone walked in to the court room and said I would take his place and pay his fine for him because I care for Eddie, and the Judge says well his fine is death, and that person says I will take his place, so he can go free, so I told him that that's what JESUS did for him over 2,000 years ago, and he took his place on that cross for him, that it was like a legal transaction, were JESUS paid our fine in HIS life's blood for him. He was like that makes sense.
So I told him what he needs to do is repent and that means confess and forsake your sins and then put all your trust in JESUS CHRIST alone for his salvation.
He said he had a lot to think about then and he shook my hand twice and keep telling me thanks for taking the time to talk to him today and I told him that was the main reason I was here today to talk to him and he said " you know I believe your right, Thanks again for talking to me. Tim and by the why were do you go to Church, I told him were I go, but that I wasn't asking him for money or to go to my church, but I would like to see him there, but all I really wanted was for him to be right with GOD. He told me thanks again he also told me " I will see you at your church "
